Posting News and Events
You can publish your most recent news and events via the control panel.
A summary of your current News and Events can appear on any webpage by chosing a template that displays the news. News is often displayed on the home page of a website.
The first 100 characters of a news item is displayed to give the reader an idea of what the story is about. The entire story can then be viewed by clicking on the title of the item. News items are generally dated and can be set to expire and dissapear from the site on a given date.
To get started, click on the Add / Edit News link located on the Control Panel Home Page or go there using the Post News & Events link that appears under the Tool Box heading in the main left hand navigation.
How to get to the news section
Once you select the News link you'll end up at a page that will display all your published new and events items. Obviously, on your first visit you'll be introduced to an empty list. To post a news item click on one of the create news item links.

Setting Start and End Dates
You can type the text for your article directly into the editor. Set a start date for your story to appear on the website. If required, you can also specify a date for the story to be removed from the site. Once this date is reached the item will no longer appear on the site. However, you will still be able to access the item via the control panel and if need be, you can reactivate the story to appear on the site at a later date.
You can add images and links to other pages using the tools provided in the toolbar at the top of the editor. For help using the editor, click on the help (question mark) icon to enable the help function. When the help button is enabled, clicking on buttons within the editor activate a popup explaination of how to use a particular feature.
